April 2012 Master’s Message
Brethren,
The first quarter of year 2012 is history. Our lodge is still on track to have a GREAT year. The month of April appears will be busy for us. We have two Entered Apprentices degrees scheduled for April 10th and a Master Mason degree scheduled for April 17th. The last Tuesday in April, the 24th will be scheduled for a practice date.
Over the past several months with permission from the lodge, a group of our JBE #254 members have been exploring the possibility of making improvements with the seating in our lodge. Brother Joe Nelms was able to locate cushioned benches/pews from a music theater in the Music Valley Drive area. The benches/pews were inspected and determined suitable for our needs with very limited alteration. At the April 2012 JBE #254 Stated Meeting, the membership present voted to allow the removal of the old theater seats and purchase of the benches/pews. A method was developed to purchase the new seating without utilization of lodge funds, thanks to a suggestion by Brother Guy Whitley. To fund the purchase twenty-four inch sections of each bench are being sold for $100.00 each. Monies raised in excess of the purchase price of the benches will be used to replace the old table and chairs in the fellowship/dining area downstairs. Those who purchase a bench/pew section will be provided the opportunity to have engraved a metal plate that will be attached to the seat. The engraved plate may be inscribed with a dedication/remembrance/memorial to a passed brother, or the purchaser may choose whatever language they would like. If you have not purchased a section of a bench/pew and would like to, please contact one of your lodge officers. There will only be a limited number of these sections sold. AGAIN!!! NO LODGE FUNDS (DUES MONIES) WILL BE/WERE USED TO CONDUCT THIS PROJECT!!!!!!!
We need your help to make our B-B-Q and Yard Sale one of the best fund raisers JBE #254 has conducted. Brother “Goober” Gentry is in charge this year. Please mark your calendar for June 16th to come out and assist with our annual fund raiser. Please make time to participate in this great event. Get in touch with “Goober” to see what assistance/positions he has available for our generous volunteers.
The JBE #254 Yard Sale is scheduled to be kicked off about 7:00 am on June 16th. If you or your family members would like to set-up during the yard sale, please let us know you are planning on coming. The location is one of the best in town and the big circus tent really draws the people in. As spring time approaches and you start to spring house clean, please remember the lodge and our yard sale. If you have items you would donate to the lodge for the yard sale. Please keep us in mind and give us a call.
At the writing of this message, we have a little over sixty members who have not yet paid their dues for 2012. If you have not paid your lodge dues yet, please forward them as quickly as possible. If you are having problems with paying your dues, please contact one of our lodge’s officers.
There are still some very sick members who are at home and in the hospital. Please remember them and their families in your prayers. Let the memories of the brothers we have lost this year stay with you. Pray for the armed service personnel at home and abroad protecting our freedoms. And keep the federal, state and local public safety personnel in your thoughts.

Dues Reminder: JBE currently has 64 members that have yet to pay their 2012 dues. We need members to volunteer to help us contact these Brothers and remind them that their Dues are past due, and also to find out if any of these Brothers are in financial distress. A call list was made available to anyone that wanted to help notify unpaid members. The WM said that he also wanted to research changing the due dates for our dues.
